Abbreviations

Abbreviations – Must have been invented to provide convenience in writing or to make larger names easy to remember or anything of that sort. The history of abbreviations is as old as 15th century and till date many people and groups have contributed in redefining and spreading the abbreviated language, the recent is Al Gore who come up the latest abbreviations like LOL etc. All of the contributors have limited themselves to the abbreviation of words only but what’s the actual impact? With these abbreviations of words our emotions become abbreviated too, with no feelings and depth, with no meaning and are left with nothing but formality. We see messages of someone death we write RIP, just feel how RIP will be pronounced for someone who got his heart ripped off, the one who needed a long tight hug with sentences of support and condolence will only have RIP and on the other hand we after writing RIP we may be writing LOL on the very next post, this surely tells how much that RIP meant for us, try writing a whole prayer or even Rest in peace in full, I am sure you will feel a difference and you actually feel for someone who left this world and the person who lost his loved one. Abbreviations are for convenience; don’t let them kill the emotions a human must possess. Don’t be a machine which write auto replies be a human who feels and write. (Just a thought)
